Our Charitable Giving

Each year The Dyers’ Company Charitable Trust is proud to support over 150 charities with grants.

These donations cover a wide and varied area of charitable activity, with particular emphasis on supporting young people, health and welfare causes.

The Charity has long standing relationships with the majority of its beneficiaries. Court members and members of the Livery carry out voluntary work and monitor the work of the supported charities, and are able to give feedback on the effectiveness of the charities in fulfilling their objectives.

Grants paid within the year totalled £736,673 (2022: £789,135). The Trust’s policy is to aim to give away in one year substantially all the income received in the previous year, net of administration costs. More than half of the Trust’s grants go to educational establishments.

History of charitable giving

Annual grants have grown 70% in the last 10 years.

The extraordinary generosity has had an incredibly positive and lasting impact on the lives of our students at Treloar School and College. We could not have achieved all that we have this year without your amazing support. Thank you! Together we are changing lives very much for the better.

Your donation will help us to continue to work towards a life unlimited for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) and tackle pressing issues in CF treatment and care, creating new information and resources to provide day to day support for people and families affected by the condition, campaigning for better access to transformational therapies, and developing new projects to improve CF care across the country. Your generosity will help us to support the CF community during this worrying time, and ease some of the financial burden that comes with this life limiting condition.

With your support, we can look ahead with confidence; we are actively breeding puppies, working with volunteers to train our young pups and matching our wonderful dogs with those ready to experience the many benefits of a canine partner and hugely improve their quality of life. It would not be possible to do this valuable work without the commitment of organisations such as yours and we are all so grateful for your generosity. Together, we are making a difference to the lives of people with physical disabilities every day. Thank you.

This donation really could not have come at a better time; the cost-of-living crisis is hitting our callers, our volunteers, our branches and our organisation particularly hard. We have experienced a significant drop in income at a time when our service has never been needed more. This donation will be hugely helpful in supporting the volunteers at London City Hub to be there when someone calls for help.
