Younger / Newer Livery Evening – February 2025
Back to NewsIn late February we enjoyed the second Younger / Newer Livery Evening event with a tour of The Charterhouse and entertainment at Dyers’ Hall.
We first enjoyed pre-tour drinks at the Master’s Lodge in Charterhouse Square, after which we were split into two groups to tour this ancient set of buildings hiding in plain sight in Farringdon. Initially created as a burial site and monastery for victims of the Black Death in the 14th century, the premises became a grand Tudor mansion house, then a school and almshouse in 1611, which it remains to this day.
Having seen this corner of London hidden from public view for centuries, we travelled back across the City by foot, taxi and two wheels to enjoy a delicious buffet and chat, accompanied by the highly talented classical guitarist, Billy Watman.
