The Dyers’ Almshouse residents visit Dyers’ Hall

Back to News

We had a really wonderful afternoon at Dyers’ Hall yesterday!

We were delighted to welcome the residents of our Almshouses in Crawley to Dyers’ Hall for a special afternoon tea, as part of our 555th anniversary celebrations.

Our afternoon began with a fascinating tour of the Hall and an introduction to the history and traditions of the Company. We then enjoyed a wonderful champagne afternoon tea, before sharing some of the treasures, customs and quirky traditions that continue to be part of Company life today.

It was a pleasure to spend such a special afternoon together, bringing our history and community to life and it was sad to wave them off for the return coach journey! We’ll be sure to invite them back again soon.
