Our Schools Get Together – July 2025

Back to News

We have been proud to support three schools for many decades. This relationship encourages friendships and collaborations between the schools too, and on a sweltering late June day, Norwich School was delighted to welcome a group of Year 9 girls and their teachers from St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School in London. The St Saviour’s cohort were on a pitstop in Norwich, en route to a week’s activity centre break in rural Norfolk.

The girls were given a short introduction to the fabulous 44-acre Cathedral Close – which was looking resplendent under azure skies. On a leisurely saunter through the Cathedral Close, the combined group walked by statues of Wellington, Nelson (an Old Norvicensian), Paddington Bear on a bench eating a marmalade sandwich, and on, via the Lower Close, to the school’s riverside playing fields.

Under the welcome shade of mature trees, the London contingent enjoyed packed lunches and a chance to stretch their legs, before being escorted to the Outreach Team at Norwich Cathedral, who kindly gave them an hour-long tour of Norwich’s magnificent 11th century Romanesque architectural masterpiece, before they rejoined their coach.

The hosts said “It was a pleasure for Norwich School to break St Saviour’s journey in this way and to host a group of such a polite, well behaved and engaged pupils from a fellow Dyers’ school”.
