The Dyers’ Alumni Club Dinner – November 2024
Back to NewsWe were absolutely delighted to welcome many Alumni to our first Alumni Club dinner at Dyers’ Hall in November.
Fellowship is at the heart of The Dyers’ Company and it was wonderful to spend time with our Alumni, and hear their exciting plans for the future. Our intention was to extend typical City Livery Company hospitality and also to demonstrate some of the older traditions involved, such as the use of the Loving Cup, with a helpful twist for more networking, such as the Livery Committee members moving seats between courses.
Here are a few of the comments we recieved:
“It was a lovely evening with lots of opportunity to speak with the Dyers’ and fellow Alumni. I thought the rotations during dinner were a very effective and social way to interact with new people and have different conversations over the course of the evening. I thought the inclusion of the Loving Cup and the National Anthem was a very lovely addition and inclusion of the Dyers’ Company traditional aspects. The food was exceptional!”
“I really enjoyed the speech, the food, the live piano and getting a chance to look at the Singh Twins painting up close again”
“It was a really unique chance to connect with new people from textile design backgrounds at different stages in their careers. I also really enjoyed the chance to meet people from different industries and career paths – I met a space engineer, historian and product developer all in the space of one evening and had some very interesting conversations”
